Liu Yelin 刘叶琳 — Chinese Fitness Godness with a frozen age

Is it possible to look half your age?
Most definitely! And Liu Yelin is walking proof.

Liu Yelin 刘叶琳 was born in 1968 in the Chinese province of Henan. All her life she worked as a librarian. She was able to stay youthful because she had worked out every winter outdoors for over 30 years. The super-toned woman said she exercises every day around the year, but it is the sub-zero sessions that have made the difference. With glowing skin, a ripped torso and not a single wrinkle in sight, Ms. Liu really does look half her age.

So what is the secret of the Chinese woman’s supernatural youth?

Liu Yelin says that she does not use cosmetics. She is a fan of fitness, which, in her opinion, is the secret of success. “I like swimming in the lake and prefer doing exercises with weight every day” – says the woman. “But my by far the most favorite kind of cardio training is swimming in the open air in the winter. When everyone wears down jackets, I take out the swimsuit, and then I dive into the freezing water. This tempers the willpower.”

Regular exercise for three decades. “I swim in the lake and do weight training every day”, she said. “My favorite thing is swimming outdoors in winter”. In fact, Liu has swum across the Yangtse River in China and the Han River in South Korea. And last year, she swam from the shores of Penang, Malaysia to the Strait of Malacca – that’s a whopping 7.45 miles in just 4 hours! Pretty impressive, huh? The super-fit Asian beauty now has over 75k followers on a Chinese social media site called Weibo and lives by the motto: “If you think you look rough, that’s because you haven’t sweated enough.”

Liu Yelin emphasizes that the hard training regime helped her develop character and made her strong. She swam across the Yangtze River in China and the Han River in South Korea. In March 2016, the woman set a goal: to swim across the sea. She successfully crossed the Straits of Malacca, departing from the coast of Penang, Malaysia.

She claims that sharing her story publicly, was done to inspire as many women as possible to play sports and be confident in their beauty and themselves. After the fallen popularity in China, Liu has set herself a new goal – to start traveling around the world and keep her beauty even at the age of 80.

This story is a great inspiration to remember that your age is just a digit.
